Which personal data this website processes, why and with whom
Legal basis
We process personal data under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, because our offer is also directed at people in the EU, it applies in addition; the legal bases under Art. 6 GDPR are named throughout this policy.

How do we collect your data?
Partly because you give it to us, for example in a form. Partly technically when you visit the website: your IP address, date and time, the address requested and your browser. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising profiles.

Netlify
Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA. For every page request Netlify processes the technical access data (IP address, time, address requested, browser) to deliver the page and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We log technical errors in order to fix them; they are not analysed by person.

Inquiries and bookings
When you write to us through a form, book the Owner Dependency Diagnostic or complete the intake, we process your details to handle the inquiry or engagement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The details reach us by email, sent through the Resend service (USA).
Build to Leave™ access and BTL OS
For access to the Build to Leave content you provide your email address; we use it to send you a confirmation. You only receive further emails if you explicitly tick the newsletter box: we then store the address in the MailerLite email service, and it only becomes active once you confirm the subscription through the link in the confirmation email (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link. If you submit your BTL OS result to us, we receive it by email together with your contact details.
Payments
Paid services are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). You enter payment details directly with Stripe; we only receive the payment status, amount, name and email address (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Abuse protection
To protect forms against automated bulk requests we count requests per IP address. The counter is deleted after one hour at most (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Strictly necessary cookies only
After you buy BTL OS we set a signed cookie that unlocks access (up to 30 days), and during checkout a short-lived cookie that matches your return from Stripe. Both are required for the service you bought and contain no profile information.
Browser storage
Your browser stores locally whether you have confirmed Build to Leave access and which colour scheme you chose. This information does not leave your device.
Audience measurement
To count page views we use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia). Plausible uses no cookies and builds no user profiles; the IP address is not stored (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The podcast pages embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin). A video only loads when you click it; until then no connection to YouTube is made. After the click your browser transmits data such as your IP address to Google. We use the privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The legal basis is your consent given by the click (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Some of the providers named are based in the USA or process data there. Transfers rely on the Swiss-U.S. or EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which the FDPIC recognises.
We keep personal data as long as the purpose requires. Business records on engagements and payments are kept for ten years, as the law requires (Art. 958f Swiss Code of Obligations).
You have the right to:
- Access to the personal data we process about you
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure of your data, unless a retention obligation applies
- Restriction of processing
- Receive or transfer your data in a common format
- Object to processing and withdraw consent with effect for the future
- Lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, where the GDPR applies, with a supervisory authority in the EU
